I have been a student of natural health for probably my whole life. I was drawn to the healing arts very early on. If you ask any first grade class what the children want to be when they grow up, a few of them will inevitably yell out 'I want to be a nurse or doctor!' I was one of those kids. In pursuit of my interests in the life sciences, I later earned a B.S. in Microbiology from Brigham Young University.

However, after becoming a mother, I quickly became disillusioned with the limitations of traditional medicine. By the time my oldest child was six years old, we were worried about him - and after trying for some time to solve the issue, medication was the only option offered by my pediatrician. We were desperate for a solution at this point. I researched the medication and quickly decided there was no way I was putting my son on the prescription that was recommended to me. There had to be another way. I had an insatiable curiosity to find out how to help him. I threw myself into learning everything I could about these issues, and researched almost constantly. I eventually learned that his issues could be solved with dietary changes. One day I went through my house, and threw or gave away everything that had wheat flour, dairy or refined sugar in it. Afterwards, I remember looking around in the kitchen and realizing I had nothing to eat in the house - and I was at a complete loss for what I was going to feed my family. There was nothing left to do but more research! Through this, I developed a love of cooking great truly healthy food. After a few weeks on the new diet, my son's health issues improved dramatically.

I was so excited by this success I launched a lifelong study of alternatives to traditional medicine - natural health, energy medicine, herbs, nutrition, weight loss, chronic illness, women's health, and philosophy.

I can't get enough of it and I am fascinated with what I’ve learned about how the body really works. Finding the root cause of a disease, rather than merely its symptoms, brings me great satisfaction. I love to help others with the knowledge and experience I’ve learned. I am able to apply my scientific background to current topics in natural health and can sort through the hype to get to the real deal. I also discovered an intuitive gift along the way that helps me zero in on the core issues and sources of health and emotional challenges in people's lives.  There is nothing better than seeing positive and permanent changes in people's lives when they learn to take control of and manage their own health!
